James Nicoloro

East Cambridge Piano, founded in 1978 by James Nicoloro during his time at Berklee College of Music, started as a humble garage operation, refurbishing neglected upright pianos from various sources. The business soon outgrew its garage space and found a home on Cambridge Street in East Cambridge. The exposure and demand for reasonably priced student pianos continued to grow over the next decade, prompting the need for a larger facility for rebuilding and refinishing.

Ultimately, East Cambridge Piano relocated to a historic building in Somerville, previously built by "The Knights of Malta." Customers frequently comment on the inviting atmosphere of the shop, and it's no wonder, as the craftsmen themselves are musicians. Their musical expertise helps guide customers in finding the perfect piano. Visit East Cambridge Piano to experience this unique blend of craftsmanship and musical passion firsthand.
